Artist Proof - Quando Sei A Napoli -
Sometimes int the printing process you get an inky finger on the page, a smudge as you stack, a mis alignment, or fade on the ink. something that means the print isn't part of the edition. These prints stay in the "utter" & Press studio, waiting for some passer by, or keen bean and we can normally find them a nearly/not quite/ perfect version of something that's been sold out online. We embrace mistakes here - and actually sometimes whole new ideas for projects arrive when something unexpected happens in production.
Anyway - We have had quite a few messages asking if there would be a new edition of this - and certainly not for a while - So I'm listing all the almost-not-quite-perfect masks here. This batch of errors are all on the edge of the design, and if you made the mask they would be on the discarded paper. So perhaps a literary Halloween costume? We'd love to see any photos of finished creations!
This print features one of Tim'd Napoli poems - and depicts Key eating his way through a pizza, and then ordering more pizza through this pizza mask. So Emily Juniper made the obvious leap of making this glorious piece of writing a print that you can turn into a pizza mask.
This is a two colour screen print: embossed, stamped, initialled and numbered in our studio in Cornwall. The black is laser printed, so the text is clear, and the olive black and tomato red hand mixed for full vibrant effect.
Both sides of this design have the poem set within them. This way can you can display the coloured side or the line drawing.
Due to the hand-finished nature of this artwork some variations in colour may occur.
The paper is Context Birch and the finished print is 29cm wide by 44cm high.
The print will be carefully wrapped and rolled into a triangular or cylindrical postage tube.
These are print errors and the discounted from the original price reflects this.
